Her countenance is meant to convey peace and serenity through times of great suffering and turmoil. "Throughout my apprenticeship, my Master Sculptors educated me in the ways to produce this icon with delicate anatomy and flawlessly smooth skin to retain her beauty. They also taught me in the subtle requirements of relief sculpture necessary to have the figure demonstrate the greatest depth and vitality. Without the employment of these nearly lost skills, the image of Her or similar figures will only inhabit, and not transcend, the stone."

"My studio replaces that of my recently retired relative Master Sculptor Dario Rossi, who served the Elberton Granite manufacturers, first through Dixie Granite Co. and then with Harmony Blue Granite Co., for over 35 years-. This completed job is installed at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Broomall, PA- 600 miles from my studio, but placed barely fifty yards from a memorial Dario hand carved over twenty years ago. Nearby are also hand carvings produced by my Master Sculptor Gary Sassi and fellow professional granite sculptor Mike Celley- who actually trained under Gary, working in the exact same booth at Celestial Memorial Sculpture Studio prior to my arrival & apprenticeship. I am always fortunate to perpetuate such intimate professional & family heritage with true Old World craftsmanship."
